First published in 1783--85. This edition incorporates some of the corrections and additions by Monsieur de la Borde [i.e. Jean Benjamin de Laborde (1734--94)], which filled two volumes that were published together with the French translation of the work by Mme Robert (Louise-Félicité Guinement de Keralio) under the Paris imprint of Didot, 1785--87. Another one-volume French edition with the imprint of Barrois, 1785 is also in Soane's library (q.v.). The views were drawn by Swinburne and engraved by Peter Mazell, Sparrow, and James Taylor.
