With half-title. A satirical response to the attack by 'Favonius' on the Royal Academy hanging committee that had appeared in The Oracle on 14 March 1793. ESTC t184396.
Copy Notes Title-page inscribed in ink William Pilkingto[n], indicating possible previous ownership by Sir Robert Taylor's pupil and assistant, William Pilkington (1758--1848), who had exhibited occasionally at the Academy between 1780 and 1790. With have inscribed in ink on page 13 as correction of 'has' in line 3. Bound with five other polemical pamphlets.
Binding C19th half calf, gilt double-rule spine, black spine-label lettered 'None Greater Than I &c. &c.', numbered '21' in a series of pamphlet volumes. Bound by Edwin Hutchinson for 1s. 6d., 28 February 1832. (Archive 7/16/29 book binding, half bound lettd.)
