The title is engraved (pl. [1]). Isaac Taylor, jun., who moved to Lavenham in 1786, was evidently the 'Artist' described in the letterpress 'Advertisement' as having made these sketches for his own amusement in about 1790. Later impressions such as that described in BAL lack this leaf. The view of Lavenham church on the title-plate is signed 'I.T. del. et sculp.' See BAL, Early printed books, no. 3251; ESTC t146673.

Copy Notes Bound with A catalogue of modern books on architecture, ... on sale at I. and J. Taylor's Architectural Library, No. 56, High Holborn, [1796] (q.v.). Front pastedown inscribed in pencil -12-/.

Binding Late C18th half green-stained calf, marbled-paper boards, gilt double-rule spine direct-lettered 'Gothic Ornaments'.
