First published anonymously by James Usher, schoolmaster in 1767. There was a second edition in 1769, a third in 1773, and a fourth published in Dublin in 1778. The author, whose initials only, 'I. U.', were given on the title-page of the second edition, is fully identified in this 1803 edition in the 'Advertisement from the Editor' (p. [v]). With a dedication by the editor, J. Mathew to Elizabeth, Margravine of Anspach.
