[De gli habiti antichi, et moderni. 1598]
In Venetia (Place), appresso i Sessa,, 1598.
[56], 507, [1] fol.: [506] full-page wdcut illus. ; 17.2 cm. (8º)

Second edition; the first was published in Venice in 1590, and a third appeared in 1664 (q.v.). Imprint date from colophon, where the statement reads 'Appresso Gio. Bernardo Sessa'. Edited by Salustio Piobbici.--cf. dedication and 'A i lettori'. The verso of each leaf contains a woodcut in an ornamental border faced by descriptive text in Italian and Latin. The woodcuts after the designs of Cesare Vecellio are thought very probably to be cut by Christoph Chrieger. The participation of Titian is questionable. The final leaf is a blank. See F. J. Lipperheide, Katalog der Kostümbibliothek, 33; BM STC Italian 1465--1600, p. 713
