Both are issued here as parts 2 & 3 of a pro tempore compilation of Viel's works up to 1800 in two volumes, one containing his Principes de l'ordonnance et de la construction des batimens; ... Première partie, 1797 (q.v.), and the present volume as described in the entry for Viel's Décadence de l'architecture, 1800 (q.v.). The folding plate showing the proposed method of repairing the dome signed 'Ch. F. Viel fecit 1796. Gaitte Sculp. An 6.' is bound at the end.

Binding C19th half red roan, gilt-ruled spine, marbled-paper boards, green spine-label lettered in gilt 'Viel's/ Decadence/ De/ L'Architecture'. Uniform bound with the companion volume (q.v.).
