The dedication is signed by Benjamin West, who was elected after Sir Joshua Reynolds's death in 1792 to succeed him as president of the Royal Academy of Arts. The half-title giving the price 'Five Shillings'. ESTC t10652.

Copy Notes Bound last in a volume containing a run of the original editions of Reynolds's discourses starting with the eighth (q.v.), 1779--92. With the half-title inscribed in ink Paul Sandby Esqr / from the Author.

Binding C19th sprinkled calf (to match earlier 18th-century binding of preceding Reynolds discourses), gilt-ruled spine, black morocco spine-label matching new label applied to earlier volume.
