Single-leaf, verso blank. The original drawings and specimens of the lithographed plates were available for inspection 'at Mr. Wightwick's Office, No.2, Duke Street, Adelphi, where subscribers names will be received.'. The plates, based on drawings made by Wightwick during a visit to Italy in 1825--26, were published in 1828 (q.v.). Wightwick was briefly employed by Soane in 1826 as an amanuensis and reader, departing in early 1827 due to the architect's difficult character. He later wrote a lively description of Soane. See Bolton, Portrait, pp. 393-413.
