Copy Notes Bought at the sale of the late architect and antiquary James Cavanah Murphy (1716--1814) for 12s. on 18 December 1814 with other books and prints to the value of £27, paid by draft dated 19 December. (Spiers Box, Miscellaneous booksellers). Volumes I and II inscribed with occasional marginal notes and marks of emphasis in pencil. Volume I inscribed in pencil on third rear free-endpaper with list of subjects and page references.
Binding C19th calf, gilt-tooled spines with sunburst motif, black and red spine-labels.
