Published to mark the completion of John Wood junior's new building to cover the hot springs at bath, designed around 1773, begun in December 1775 and completed in 1777. This is one of only two complete copies known, in addition to the Avery copy and the incomplete BAL copy. BAL, Early printed books, no. 4149; Harris and Savage 930; ESTC n72307.
Copy Notes Inscribed in ink on title-page Jno. Carr/ 1779. and upper wrapper inscribed in ink in the same hand with title Bath. John Carr's copy with a loosely inserted design by Carr for remodelling the Baths at Buxton, Derbyshire. See SM Concise Catalogue of Drawings, Vol 11. Bought from W. Boone for 1s. 6d. on 13 February 1822, lot 622. (Priv. Corr. XVI.E.4.8).
