The single illustration is on p. 167. The work was issued in 4 parts from 1 January to 10 May 1816. Owing to an increased quantity of text, the price advertised in Woolnoth's proposals had to be increased by 5s. Several of the drawings by Thomas Hastings (fl. 1813--1831) were made from sketches by Henry Sargant Storer (1795--1837). BAL, Early printed books, no. 3713.

Copy Notes Copy 1: Bound with the brown printed paper wrappers to each part and a printed notice of the price rise dated 'Jan. 1, 1816'. Soane subscribed to an imperial paper copy with proofs for which he paid J. Britton 4 guineas on 21 December 1816. (Priv. Corr. XVI.E.3.3.). Some pages are unopened.
Copy 2: 36.6 cm.

Binding Copy 1: C19th blue-green morocco, brown paper boards, printed paper spine-label 'Imperial Paper. Price £5 5 0'. Stamped on the back paste-down Cumberland, possibly the name of the binder.
Copy 2: C19th calf, gilt thick-thin double-rule borders with small corner-pieces, gilt thick-thin double-rule spine direct-lettered in gilt.
