The first part, by Dekker and Thomas Middleton, appeared in 1604. The second part, by Dekker alone, was entered in the Stationer's Register to t. Man, jun., 29 April 1608; to Butter 29 June 1630. The last leaf is blank. ESTC s109537; STC (2nd ed.), 6506; Greg, II, 435; Pforzheimer, 278.
Copy Notes Lacking the final blank. Various ink inscriptions and scribbles: title-page inscribed in ink Second Book of the honest Whore; on the verso, in another hand, Mr. Morris(?) [illegible] and two lines in Welsh; B4v inscribed John and in another hand John lloyd of raynall in the [?] of flint; on C4v Richard Anwyll his booke witness by me Richar[d?] / Anwyll his hand [??]; initials BH and FG on D4r; part of the fore-edge of G1 is excised to remove an inscription; on K4v Robert Parry; other annotations on B2v. Probably acquired as one of a group of quarto plays printed around 1630, all in similar bindings and bearing similar ownership inscriptions and marks suggesting they may have been previously bound together and broken up for separate sale.
Binding C19th half calf, marbled-paper boards, gilt double-ruled spine with title and date in gilt.
