Étienne de Lafargue was also the author of an Histoire géographique de la Nouvelle Écosse, 1749. The present compilation of his shorter works was first published in 1765, and expanded for this edition. The frontispieces and the plates in vol. II are by N. Le Mire after Hubert Gravelot; the plates in vol. I are unsigned. Braces in imprint.
Copy Notes Partly unopened. The plates in each volume are grouped before the text. Bought from Thomas Boone for 3s., 24 April 1806. (Spiers Box). With Boone's pencil inscriptions and cyphers on first free-endpaper 2 toms =3s= / belles figures.
Binding C19th half calf, marbled-paper boards (the marbling occludes printed text in English), gilt-ruled spines, red morocco spine-labels.
