'Songs, &c'. without music: p. [71]--88. Advertisement on a slip reading 'Early in October will be published, The Modern Stage, a Poetical Satire, ...' tipped in, presumably as issued. The advertisement is announced in a footnote at the end of the preface, in which George Soane also complains of the iniquities of his treatment at the hands of the managers of Covent Garden theatre and of his father.
