Lefèvre published Aimé-Martin's first edition of the works in 1820. Half-title with series title 'Collection Des Classiques François', with imprint on verso 'Imprimerie De Jules Didot Aíné, Imprimeur Du Roi'. Includes a life of the author by Louis Racine. The frontispiece portrait of Racine in vol. VII is by Barthélemy Joseph Fulcran Roger.
Copy Notes Bought from Boone for £3 3s., 21 December 1829. (Archives 7/14/1 Books). The portrait of Racine is misbound in vol. VII.
Binding C19th diced russia, thin gilt roll-tooled borders, gilt double-ruled spine and lettering, marbled edges. Bound by Edwin Hutchinson for £1 15s., 5 January 1830. (Archives 7/14/40, book binding). Uniform with the companion set of Corneille bound at the same date (q.v.).
