First edition. Ordinary paper issue. In two parts, each with separate pagination and register. Each part also has its own divisional half-title, that to the second part reading 'A Continuation Of the Life of the Earl of Clarendon, ...'; the Soane copy has the variant half-title reading 'The Continuation Of the Life of Edward Earl of Clarendon, ...'. ESTC n11213.

Copy Notes Bought from Thomas Boone as vol. II in a two-volume uniformly bound set with the 1732 illustrated folio edition of Clarendon's A history of the rebellion and civil wars in England (q.v.) for £2 10s., 16 June 1806. (Spiers Box).

Binding C18th sprinkled calf, gilt-ruled and dotted borders, gilt-tooled spine compartments, olive and black morocco spine-labels.
