Part 2 has special title-page 'Acts And Ordinances. Beginning with Acts made in the year 1648. The Second Part:', dated 1657, with separate register and pagination. 'In an Act of XVII Caroli, Intituled, An Act for the further Relief of His Majesties Army and the Northern parts of the Kingdome (which by reason of the length of it, is abbreviated in this book Cap. 4.) there is at the end thereof contained a Clause or Proviso for the continuance of several Statues, which Clause or Proviso is in these words. Viz. ... ': on recto of final leaf. Text is continuous despite anomalies in pagination. Running-title 'Anno 1653' on p. 239 is an error for '1652'. The collation given above does not include the final blank leaf recorded in ESTC. ESTC r7731; Wing E87.

Copy Notes Inscribed in ink on the title-page Ja: Macartney. Acquired at Lord Lyttelton's sale, 1--6 July 1823 (q.v.), 4th day, lot 44 for 10s. with Livy's Romane historie, 1600 (q.v.). (Journal 11 July 1823). With Lyttelton's lozenge-shaped paper library shelf label on spine with shelfmark in ink 44/2. Soane had made alterations to Macartney House in 1802--1809 for George Fulke Lyttleton (later 2nd Baron Lyttelton), including the refurbishment of the Library, the finest of Soane's surviving country house libraries. See Ptolemy Dean, Sir John Soane and the country estate, 1999, pp. [114]--123.

Binding C18th calf, blind double-ruled covers with blind-tooled border parallel to spine, rebacked in C19th calf, gilt-ruled spine, tan morocco spine-label, endpapers watermarked '1805'.
