Pope's translation of the Odyssey, with the assistance of Elijah Fenton and William Broome, was originally published in 1725, ten years after his celebrated translation of the Iliad. The present edition was sometimes issued with The Iliad of Homer. Translated by Alexander Pope, ... printed by H. Baldwin for the same booksellers, 1796 (q.v.). Includes 'A General View Of The Epick Poem, And Of The Iliad And Odyssey. Extracted from Bossu' in vol. I and 'Homer's Battle Of The Frogs And Mice. By Mr. Archdeacon Parnell. Corrected By Mr. Pope' at the end of vol. V, with separate half-title and pagination but continuous register. ESTC t90238.

Binding C18th tree-calf, thick-thin gilt-ruled spines with gilt-tooled dove motif, black morocco spine-labels. Uniform with the companion edition of Pope's translation of The Iliad, 1796 (q.v.).
