Anonymous. The first major work of Mark Akenside, a physician and poet from Newcastle upon Tyne. There were pirated editions (Newcastle and Glasgow), a Dublin edition and two further Dodsley editions in the same year. ESTC t54251; Foxon A140.
Copy Notes Imperfect; wanting half-title and final advertisement leaf. Bound in a pamphlet volume with other works in verse.
Binding C18th half sheep, marbled-papr boards, gilt-ruled spine, gilt-lettered 'Poems'.
