Published pseudonymously by 'An Independent Whig', who signs the letter dated 'Nov. 26, 1781' (p. 51) and is identified in Halkett & Laing as John Almon. First edition: 1781. The letter is addressed to Jenkinson in his capacity as secretary-at-war. He was created Baron Hawksbury, 1786 and 1st Earl of Liverpool, 1796. The final page lists books printed for J. Debrett. ESTC n2578; Sabin 40520.
Copy Notes Imperfect; wanting half-title. Bound last in a collection of sermons and tracts.
Binding Early C19th sprinkled calf, gilt double-rule spine, red spine-label reading 'Sermons & Tracts', numbered '49' in a series of pamphlet volumes
