This supplement to Atwood's Dissertation on the construction and properties of arches, 1801 (q.v.) contains corrections and additions to that work and was doubtless offered both separately and together with unsold copies of the Dissertation. James Douglass and Thomas Telford had submitted in 1800 an ambitious design for a new London Bridge to be constructed of iron. See notes to BAL, Early printed books, no. 148.
