Copy Notes Soane purchased his large paper copy with a full set of proof plates and 6 proofs before letters from Britton for £3 on 8 July 1830. (Priv. Corr. XVI.E.7.4). It is bound (2) with the previous and final two volumes in the series, The history and antiquities of ... Gloucester, 1829 (q.v.), The history and antiquities of ... Hereford, 1831 (q.v.) and The history and antiquities of ... Worcester, 1835 (q.v.).

Binding C19th half brown goatskin, gilt-ruled borders, gilt double-rule spine direct-lettered in gilt, marbled-paper boards. Bound as vol. [IV] '1829--35' of a four-volume set of 'Britton's / Cathedral / Antiquities.'
