Plates numbered I--XVI including pl. II bound as the frontispiece. The fifth volume of Britton's Cathedral antiquities, originally published in parts. Publication of this volume led to a quarrel with Britton's draughtsman Frederick Mackenzie, who terminated the collaboration. BAL, Early printed books, no. 403.

Copy Notes A large paper copy with proof plates and 8 proofs before letters. It is bound (2) with the previous and two following volumes in the series, The history and antiquities of ... Binding C19th half brown goatskin, gilt-ruled borders, gilt double-rule spine direct-lettered in gilt, marbled-paper boards. Bound as vol. [II] '1819--21' of a four-volume set of 'Britton's / Cathedral / Antiquities.'
