The fourteenth and final volume in the Cathedral antiquities series was originally issued in parts between June 1832 and August 1835. Plates numbered I--XVI, with plate XIV as the title-plate. The final [2] pages (leaf ²c2), not present in the BAL copy, contain advertisements for Britton's published works as well a notices of his books on Toddington (1840) and Cassiobury Park (1837) which were 'Preparing for Publication'. BAL, Early printed books, no. 410.

Copy Notes A large paper copy with a full set of proof plates and 9 proofs before letters. It is bound (4) with the previous three volumes in the series, The history and antiquities of ... Gloucester, 1829 (q.v.), The history and antiquities of ... Bristol, 1830 (q.v.) and The history and antiquities of ... Hereford, 1831 (q.v.).

Binding C19th half brown goatskin, gilt-ruled borders, gilt double-rule spine direct-lettered in gilt, marbled-paper boards. Bound as vol. [IV] '1829--35' of a four-volume set of 'Britton's / Cathedral / Antiquities.'
