Restrikes from the original plates, dated 1783 to 1811, printed chiefly on both sides of the leaf; the original issues were mostly published under the name 'H. Humphrey', i.e. Hannah Humphrey, who traded as Hannah Humphrey (1778-1807); Henry Humphrey (1811-7); George Humphrey (1820-30). Gillray was the most celebrated satirist and caricaturist of his day. Accompanied by an Illustrative description, 1830 (q.v.).
