Place and name of publication from title-plate imprint line; date from Getty Research Institute library catalogue. A suite of plates reproducing Giovanni Lanfranco’s Villa Borghese ceiling fresco depicting the Council of the Gods by the engraver Pietro Aquila. The first image depicts the ceiling and is printed as counted in the above collation on two sheets, which were intended to be joined together; the remaining six plates depict the surrounding fictive architecture. The title-plate includes a dedication to Giovanni Battista Borghese with his armorial device.
