LONG, Charles, Baron Farnborough (1761--1838)
Short remarks, and suggestions, upon improvements now carrying on or under consideration.
London: J. Hatchard and Son, 1826.
[4], 48 p.; 22.3 cm. (8°)

Anonymous. The BAL copy is inscribed '... Lord Farnborough Not published'. This short work was privately printed in 1826. Although he had little to say about Soane's work in the city, Long shared Soane's contention as elaborated in the latter's Designs for public improvements in London and Westminster, 1827 (q.v.) that London should be remodelled around key public buildings. BAL, Early printed books, no. 1945.

Copy Notes Inscribed in ink on half title Not published and in pencil on front free-endpaper with prices of paper, presumably the paper used for interleaving. With marginal marks of emphasis in pencil.

Binding C19th calf, gilt thick-thin double-rule borders with small corner rosettes, gilt thin-thick-thin triple-rule spine, green morocco spine-label.

Reference Number 4189
