With an advertisement on p. [3] dated 'March 1, 1814' for the author's lecture at the Free Masons' Hall on 20 May 1814, and another advertisement dated 'April 25th, 1814' on the verso of the title-page in the aftermath of Napoleon's abdicated on 6 April. A footnote to the title explains that 'These Outlines are founded on the principles contained in the first Fasciculus of a Work on the Anatomy and Physiology of the Human Subject, comprising the Heart and Brain, as the agents principally concerned in the phenomena of Life, Sensation, and Intellection. ... Published by Constable and Co., Edinburgh; Longman and Co., London.'

Copy Notes The prospectus is accompanied by a letter of presentation to Soane, dated 14 May 1814, from James Moyes who also sent tickets for him and Mrs Soane to attend Dr Ramsay's lecture at the Freemasons' Hall. The lecturer is described as 'ingenious', but 'a singularly little man, indeed almost a dwarf, and somewhat decrepid'. Bound (1) in a volume of miscellaneous pamphlets.
