'Messrs. Rodwell and Martin', publishers were added to the imprints of parts II--IV. The final plate in part IV, 'Approach to Hathersage' is bound in part III, page 4, as directed. The plates of part II were engraved by George Cooke (1781--1834) alone; those in part III were by George and William Bernard (1778--1855) Cooke; and those in part IV were by the two Cookes and Edward Blore (1787--1879). Soane often collected books by his colleagues at the Royal Academy of Arts; the illustrator of the present work, Sir Francis Chantrey, was a personal friend and later presented Soane with the bust now opposite the Apollo Belvedere in the Museum.
