Page 79 is misnumbered 75. The recto of pl. 1 is anengraved divisional title reading 'Explication Par Figures Et Par Discours, ... M.DC.LIII'. Except for the two folding plates (pl. 27 and 32), the plates are printed recto and verso, making a total of 33 impressions on 33 leaves. Plate 32 is dated '1669' and evidently a later addition. Hooked on Books 1.5.
Copy Notes Imperfect; wanting the title-page. With a duplicate impression of pl. 32 misbound with the plates belonging to Bosse's Traité des pratiques geometrales, 1665 (q.v.) with which this copy is bound together with the author's Le peintre converty, 1667 (q.v.). The correctly placed impression of pl. 32 is cropped at the foot. The volume is inscribed in ink on front free endpaper John Soane / 1809 and in pencil probably in the hand of the bookseller Thomas Boone rare =3s. These inscriptions suggest that this volume may be the 'Du Bos. Perspective &c.' purchased by Soane from Boone on 12 December 1809, as no work on perspective by Du Bos or Dubos has been traced. (Spiers Box).
Binding C18th sprinkled sheep, gilt-tooled spine, maroon spine-label gilt lettered 'L'Art De L Archit'.
