House of Commons 656. Evidence of Sir Jeffry Wyatville. In 1824 Jeffry Wyatt (knighted in 1828) had been invited to submit designs for the improvement of Windsor Castle in company with the three architects of the Office of Works (Soane, Smirke, and Nash). By 1830 the original estimates of £150,000 had been far exceeded and a committee was appointed to enquire into the cost of completion.
