Issued with a slip tipped-in at the front 'The several Plans and Drawings referred to in this Report, will be delivered, sewed up together, as soon as they are completed'; three sets of of the plans and drawings are in the Soane Museum (q.v.). The first report was published in 1796, the year in which the Committee was appointed under the chairmanship of Sir William Young after a petition from the City for the much needed improvement of the London docks. A scheme for remodelling Legal Quays by Soane's former master George Dance the younger (cf. plate X) was never realized. A third and final report was published in 1800 (q.v.). Copy Notes Bound (1) in a C20th volume with the third report and with a report on compensations, 1799--1824 (q.v.). Upper printed blue paper wrapper retained with title 'Second Report On The Improvement of the Port of London; &c. &c. &c. 1799'.
