Issued in publisher's printed green paper wrappers, the front wrapper repeating the title and the lower wrapper with publisher's advertisement 'At Wallis's Universal Juvenile Library; Will speedily be Published, The Butterfly's Funeral: By I.L.B. Being A Sequel To The Butterfly's Ball and Grasshopper's Feast. ...'.

Copy Notes Front wrapper inscribed in pencil on inside front wrapper To / J. Soane Esqre / from his three / sweet / [hearts] with an accomplished sketch of an ionic column beneath decorated with three hearts. Bound first, retaining the printed wrappers, with two other items of juvenile literature (q.v.; q.v.).

Binding Later C19th grey paper casing, ink-lettered brown paper spine giving the titles of the three items.
