Mrs B. Hoole was Barbara Hofland's name by her first husband. First published 'Sheffield: printed by J. Montgomery, Iris Office, for Longman, Hurst, Rees and Orme, London, 1809'. See D. Butts, Mistress of our tears, 1992, no. 2, p. 56. Issued in publisher's printed wrappers, the upper reading '1810. La Fete de la Rose: Or, The Dramatic Flowers. Price One Shilling.' and the lower 'A Holiday Present, For Young People.', illustrated with small wood-engravings.
Copy Notes Copy 1: Bound second, retaining the printed grey paper wrappers, with two other items of juvenile literature (q.v.; q.v.).
