Anonymous. By Johannes de Francfordia; see Lexikon für Theologie und Kirche, 2nd ed., 1957, v. 10, col. 62. The Latin translation of 1558 was by Sébastien de Châteillon whose preface in the name 'John Theophilus' is included in this edition. The English translation is by 'Gile Randall' i.e. Giles Randall who signs the letter to the reader. Title within a border of typographic ornaments. Leaf A1 is blank. Wing T857B; ESTC r185020.

Copy Notes Imperfect; wanting leaf †2 and the blank leaf A1. Stamp 'Jpx' on title-page and on final page. Ink inscription in an early hand on rear free-endpaper.

Binding C18th half calf, marbled-paper boards, neoclassical gilt-tooled spine, red morocco spine-label, Richard Cosway's 'CR' monogram in top compartment.
