'The Author of The Whole Duty Of Man' is identified as Roibert Allestree but the work has also been attributed to Dorothy Pakington, Richard Sterne, John Fell, or Humphrey Henchman and others. First impression: 1674. The publication date is a misprint for 1677. With a preliminary imprimatur leaf dated 'Januarii 24, 1675'. Wing A1138; Madan III, 3133; ESTC r4579.

Copy Notes Armorial seal in red wax on verso of title-page. Inscribed in ink on front pastedown with bookseller's code ae/e and on rear free-endpaper Loquacity and (upside-down) Anna.

Binding C18th mottled calf, blind-ruled borders and spine, without spine-label or lettering
