Copy Notes Bound in a collection of sale catalogues of 'Articles Of Virtu', 1798 to 1832. Inscribed in ink on title-page 1804 / 26 June. Another inscription in brown ink reading Sundry lots purchased by / Mr Soane is partially cut by trimming at head of title-page. A list of 8 lots in pencil along the fore-edge of the title-page: (second day's sale): 12, 42, 43, 44, 71, 77, 79 and 93. These correspond to some (but not all) works in Soane's Library that were purchased at the sale, which include the presentation copy of Hogarth's printed works (q.v.) and the four volumes of Stukeley's 'Sacred Antiquities' (SM Vol. 94--97) noted in the title. Extensive annotation of prices in pencil throughout the catalogue, some of these lots were also purchased by Soane, or copies were eventually acquired by him.

Binding Later C19th half calf, maroon binder's cloth boards. Numbered '22' in a series of sale catalogue volumes.
