The sub-committee was appointed to revise the 1827 annual report submitted by the treasurer Thomas Bryan (q.v.), which had been found to be irregular, with monies still owing to the builder of the new schools. Having agreed to draw up amendments, Bryan later declined to do so, and was replaced as treasurer by William Beckwith France.
