The mansion is No. 21, St. James's Square, where Soane had worked for the Duke of Leeds in 1795--6. The house was sold to John Blades, a glass manufacturer, for £11,500, but not occupied. See Ptolemy Dean, Sir John Soane and London, 2006, p. 228; Survey of London, XXIX, 1960, pp. 174--179.
Copy Notes Docket-title inscribed in pencil with a sum bringing the selling price of 11500 up to 12075, and an architectural sketch. Bound (6) in a collection of estate particulars.
Binding Later C19th marbled-paper boards, ribbed morocco-grain cloth spine gilt-lettered 'Sale Catalogues'. 37.6 cm. Later numbered '48' in a series of sale catalogue volumes.
