Advertisement text dated: Tooke's Court, London, 31st March, 1818. A.J. Valpy's new edition was based on the original seventeenth-century Delphin edition prepared during the reign of Louis XIV of France. According to the prospectus, 'The whole will make about 120 or 130 Parts--and twelve Parts will be printed in the year'. In all 186 volumes were published between 1818 and 1830 with the editorial supervision of George Dyer. Includes 'New Works, Printed By A.J. Valpy, ...' (pp. 5--12).

Copy Notes Unopened. Bound probably as issued at the end of the bookseller John Bohn's 1818 catalogue (q.v.) in a collection of booksellers' price lists.

Binding Recent olive green binder's cloth, gilt-lettered spine, numbered '61' in a series of sale catalogue volumes. Bound February 1925.
