First edition: 1810. The collation describes the Soane copy, which may be wanting two preliminary leaves. Frontispiece portrait of Captain Hamilton Roche by John Swaine after Friedrich Rehberg. Imprint at foot of p. 16: 'Paris. Le Normant, imprimeur du Roi'. Text within decorated borders. Includes on the two unnumbered pages at the end on the recto 'The Tears Of England! On The Lamented Death Of His Royal Highness The Late Duke Of Kent', and on the verso 'Letter From The Late Duke Of Kent' signed 'J. Parker, Private Secretary' dated '19th Dec. 1810'.

Copy Notes Accompanied by a folded letter in ink signed by the author's wife Mary H. Roche and addressed to Sir John Soane, Bt. dated East Cliff Place / near Dover. April 27th 1833: Sir, / Permit me the honor to send / this Poem, most respectfully for the / favor of your gracious reaction. - / .... And on the verso in another hand stating Letter from Mrs M.H.Roche / with a copy of a Poem / entitled Waterloo. and another Salamanca / (Sent by Mr Malton / a sovereign as a subscription / 2 May, 1833). Bound (6) in a collection of pamphlets. The final two pages have been inscribed in ink with the number 7, treating the leaf as a separate publication for the binding, while the following item, Roche's poem Waterloo is assigned the number 8 as a separate work (q.v.), but it too concludes with a repetition of 'The Tears Of England!'. In any case, Salamanca and Waterloo are through-paginated despite having different dates of publication.
