A catalogue of the valuable and extensive miscellaneous library, choice prints, and theatrical portraits, of John Philip Kemble, Esq. Which will be sold by auction, by Mr. Evans, at his house, No. 93, Pall-Mall, on Friday January 26, and nine following days (Sunday excepted).

Lugt 9947. It was at this sale that Boswell purchased Kemble's copy of the Shakespeare First Folio, 'very fine copy, most carefully inlaid throughout, bound in Venetian morocco, in russia,' lot 1657*, for £112 7s.0d., which Soane acquired in 1825 (q.v.). Two other lots: 1619 A Treatise wherein Dicing, Dauncing, Vaine Plaies, or Enterludes, are reproved by John Northbrooke, London, Bishoppe, 1599 (1599 corrected in ink to 1579), q.v., and 1620 Th'overthrow of Stage-Playes, by the way of controversie, betwixt D. Gager and D. Rainoldes, 1579 (1579 corrected in ink to 1599), q.v., purchased by Boone for 5 guineas and 8s. respectively, may have been the copies subsquently acquired by Soane.
