Stormy weather in July 1832 had led to the loss of the lives of over a hundred fishermen. Soane is listed as a subscriber for £21, one of the highest individual amounts which are generally of the order of £10 or less. Lord Dundas alone is in for £50. N.M. Rothschild is down for ten guineas and his wife for five.

Binding Later C19th pebble-grained maroon binder's cloth, gilt-lettered spine reading 'Insurance & Societies'. Later numbered 'B' in a series of pamphlet volumes.
