Report of the Committee of Managers of the Wellington Testimonial, appointed on the 6th of July, 1814.

The secretary of the committee was John Pomeroy, Vice President of the Royal Dublin Society and vice president of the Royal Irish Institution. The monument was conceived in 1813, before the final victory over Napoleon at Waterloo in 1815, and funds raised by public subscription. The design chosen from a shortlist of six was by Sir Robert Smirke. After funds ran out in 1820 the Testimonial fund was revived in 1829 and the monument was only completed in 1857--61.

Copy Notes Bound first in a collection of pamphlets.

Binding Later C19th red pebble-grained binder's cloth, gilt-lettered spine reading 'Societies'. Later numbered 'E' in a series of pamphlet volumes.
