The third preliminary leaf contains 'Mrs. Robinson's works'. Mary [Perdita] Robinson (née Darby) was a colourful figure who achieved fame on the stage and some notoriety after she drew the attention of the Prince of Wales in 1780, and published a number of novels and works in verse. ESTC t94337.
Copy Notes Textual corrections in ink throughout. Bound (2) in a collection of plays and verse.
Binding C19th half calf, marbled-paper boards, gilt double-ruled spine, black spine-label gilt-lettered 'Oedipus Tyrannus &c &c &c'. Bound by Edwin Hutchinson for 1s. 8d., 19 June 1830. (Spiers Box. Binding 51). Later numbered '85' in a series of pamphlet volumes.
