Anonymous. This precis of the two anonymous pamphlets attributed to Thomas Bateman, defending Sir Christopher Wren, Richard Jennings and others against accusations of irregularities put forward by Francis Hare in his Frauds and abuses at St. Paul's (q.v.), can be dated to 24 April 1713 by an inscription on the title-page of this and the BAL copy. The two earlier pamphlets, published in March of the same year, were entitled An answer to a pamphlet entitul'd frauds and abuses at St. Paul's ... (q.v.) and Fact against scandal: or, a collection of testimonials ... (q.v.). With final blank leaf B4. ESTC t152997; BAL, Early printed books, no. 3758.

Copy Notes Date of publication on title-page augmented in ink 24. April. At top d, and in another hand at the bottom of the page pr 3d. Bound (4) after Frauds and abuses at St. Paul's (q.v.) and Bateman's two earlier pamphlets with two other pamphlets concerning the controversy and two additional items both dated 1678 tipped in on guards at the end.

Binding C19th calf, blind triple-ruled borders with small floral corner ornaments in blind, gilt triple-ruled and blind-tooled spine, dark green spine-label gilt-lettered 'Pamphlets On St Pauls'. Later numbered '70' in a series of pamphlet volumes.
