Title from opening words of text. At end of text: Imprimatur. Dat. xiv. Jun. 1678. H. London, i.e. Henry Comption, Bishop of London. A letter refuting arguments against the expenses of rebuilding St Paul's Cathedral, London, and appealing for funds. Includes a statement of account for the rebuilding up to 1st May 1678. ESTC r224637.

Copy Notes Folded and tipped onto a guard at the end of a collection of the six pamphlets connected to the controversy sparked by the anonymous publication in 1712 of Francis Hare's Frauds and abuses at St. Paul's (q.v.), and with Edward Stillingfleet's circular letter soliciting subscriptions for rebuilding the cathedral, dated 30 May 1678 (q.v.).

Binding C19th calf, blind triple-ruled borders with small floral corner ornaments in blind, gilt triple-ruled and blind-tooled spine, dark green spine-label gilt-lettered 'Pamphlets On St Pauls'. Later numbered '70' in a series of pamphlet volumes.
