I. Cassander = the Lutheran minister and author John Bruckner, although ODNB suggests this ascription is doubtful. John Horne Tooke's Epea pteroenta. Or, the diversions of Purley was first published in two parts, the first in 1786 and the second in 1798 (second edition: 1798--1805, q.v.). ESTC t98027; Alston III.856.

Copy Notes Bound (3) in a collection of five political tracts. Soane's die-sinker bookplate on the half-title verso.

Binding C19th half calf, marbled-paper boards, gilt double-ruled spine, black spine-label, gilt-lettered 'Political Tracts'. Numbered '74' in a series of pamphlet volumes.
