[4], 64 p., engr. frontis., engr. t.-pl., engr. port., XI [i.e. 8] pl. : [7] engr. illus. ; 68.5 cm. (1°)

The plates were drawn by Antonio Visentini and first published in 1726 under the title Iconografia della Chiesa Ducale di S. Marco. Some time after 1754 Visentini disposed of the plates to Antonio Zatta, the most important Venetian publisher of illustrated books of the period, who added the descriptive text to this reimpression and replaced Visentini's name on the plates with his own name or initials. The engraved title-plate is printed à la poupée in black, brown, bistre and indigo. The allegorical head-piece with view of San Marco and the decorated initial on p. [1] of the descriptive text are printed in indigo and in bistre respectively. The title-plate, dedication, preface and 64 pages of text are surrounded by nine different engraved ornamental borders. Some copies are without colour printing, and some without the engraved borders. BAL, Early printed books, no. 152.
