Hakewill's Picturesque tour of Italy, London: John Murray, 1820 was originally published in parts between 1818 and 1820. The final leaf of the present catalogue of an exhibition of drawings prepared for the work announces the publication of the first part on 18 May 1818 and invites new subscribers to send their names to John Murray, James Hakewill or any bookseller in town or country, and those already in possession of the first part to request the 'Continuation'.
Copy Notes Bound last in a volume containing the texts of Thomas Daniell's Oriental scenery (q.v.) and the Description of the ... model in ivory of the Taj Mahal, ... now exhibiting at No. 5, Haymarket, 1823 (q.v.).
Binding C19th half calf, gilt double-rule spine, marbled-paper boards, black spine-label.
